Shortly after the children of Israel were redeemed from the land of Egypt, the Lord made then to have the understanding that His redemptive name is Jehovah Rapha, that is, 'The Lord That Heals'.
The woman with the issue of blood had this understanding very well. She said in her heart that she would be made whole if only she touched the helm of Christ's garment. This she did and she was made whole.
(Exodus 15:26) and said, "If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you." (NKJV).
From this scripture, we can infer that sickness can come as a result of disobedience to God's commandment, that is, SIN. The Lord made the issue of divine health to be optional by putting the word 'IF'.
The blind man who knew this called on Jesus and said 'Jesus, Son of God, have mercy on me'.The psalmist also said that the Lord should look on his affliction and pain and forgive all his sins. Sin, affliction and pain go hand in hand.
(Psalms 25:18) Look on my affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins. (NKJV).
Remember, 'your sins are forgiven thee' brought about a lot of healing miracles during the life ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. Before the healing of the man with palsy, despite the level of faith exhibited by his people, his sin has to be forgiven first.
(Mark 2:5) When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you." (NKJV).
Jesus Christ, the great redeemer perfected the work of deliverance on the cross of Calvary. According to Isaiah 53:5, everything about sickness and diseases has been settled.
(Isaiah 53:5) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. (NKJV).
Do you believe you have been healed of that sickness or delivered from that affliction? Pause now and claim your right. If the sickness can be traced to sin committed in the past, genuinely confess the sin and ask for forgiveness before making any claim.
Faith however has a great role to play in healing from diseases or afflictions. It is only with faith that this healing that already exists in the spiritual realm can be called to the physical. Many received healing from our Lord by exemplifying little faith. Faith without work is dead. The following scripture illustrates the healing of the woman with issue of blood.
(Mark 5:27-34) When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, "If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well." Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched my clothes?" But His disciples said to Him, "You see the multitude thronging you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'" And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction." (NKJV).
The woman recognized the one who can heal, she thought in her heart what to do and exercise her faith by taking a definite step to receive her miracle. Take step to claim your rights now. You are no more ignorant of it.
